Jesse Carver: Juve’s Scouse Scudetto Hero


As a football player, Jesse Carver was somewhat unremarkable. In fact, his main claim to fame during his playing career was the length of his throw-in. In 1929, more than seventy years before Premiership footballer Rory Delap started terrorising defenders with his powerful throw-ins, the Liverpool-born youngster was already employing a similar tactic at Blackburn Rovers.
